Why this fund exists
MTL Clean Co. is a Montreal cleaning company under Mainfield & Co Ltd. This fund is how the work done in Montreal homes, and the people who trust us with them, backs educational projects in Africa, from school supplies and fees to the small, concrete things that keep a student in class.
The name
The fund carries the company's own name on purpose. When a business asks its clients to give, it should sign what it runs: Mainfield answers for every dollar that moves through this page, under the same name that signs its contracts.
How it works
After a clean, once the visit is paid and reviewed, we invite the client to contribute if they wish. Contributions go through the same secure Stripe checkout as everything else we do. As projects are funded, each one gets written up on this page, with what was funded and what it cost, so anyone who gave can see where it went.
Where it goes
Our sole partner today is Holistic Focus for the Marginalized (HFM), an organization serving refugees and host communities at Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi since 2014. HFM runs two schools serving over 2,000 students and a tablet-based literacy programme, and contributions from this fund back their education work. Their projects, and the ones this fund backs, are outlined on their site.
Plain terms
The fund is a project of Mainfield & Co Ltd, a private company. It is not a registered charity. Contributions are voluntary gifts, are not tax-deductible, and buy nothing in return except the follow-up on this page. If the fund's structure ever changes, this section will say so before anything else does.
